Best Graphics’ Recent Visit to YOCO’s Factory in Shanghai

Best Graphics, in cooperation with The YOCO Group since 2022, has expanded our partnership further following our November visit to Shanghai, China. This visit comes on the heels of YOCO’s onsite meetings, at Best Graphics’ new facilities, in September.

Founded nearly a century ago, The YOCO Group – short for “Your Cooperative” partner – manufactures a wide range of products, which Best Graphics is pleased to represent. These include: Die Cutters, Foil Stampers, Blankers, Offline Blankers, Pile Turners-Aerators, Window Patchers, Paper-based Bubble Embossing Machinery, Paper-based Pouch Machinery with Protective Inside Liners, Folder Gluers, Pre-feeders and Carton Packers, Logistics Conveyor Systems for Presses and Die Cutters, Pattern Gluing and Affixing Equipment for the Corrugate and P.O.P. Display market, Die Board Making Equipment, Digital Embellishment and Raised UV Machinery, and Automatic Taping Machines.

Spanning (6) factories, employing (130) staff, and with nearly 325,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity, YOCO has built a reputation both domestically and abroad. To date, they have more than 1,000 machine installations worldwide, with sixty percent exported [outside of China]. Major markets, outside China, include the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey, Russia, the Middle East, and Japan.

Our first day of factory tours took us to their main headquarters, in a leafy Western suburb of Shanghai, in addition to the factory where Die Cutters, Foil Stampers, and Blankers are manufactured. Day two, took us (2.5) hours north of Shanghai to Fuan Tower where a large community of Printing Industry manufacturers have put down roots. 50% of the businesses, in Fuan Tower, are affiliated with the Commercial Printing, Graphic Arts in come capacity. ETERNA, a division of the Bobst Group, as an example, was (4) buildings down from where YOCO’s Window Patching machines are manufactured. And, across the street from YOCO’s production of Folder Gluers sits CHM, a prominent name in the Paper Sheeter sector [which, Best Graphics’ CMW – Chosen Machinery Works models compete directly against].

Along the way, John Becker – Best Graphics, Packaging Specialist – and A.J. Brahm – Best Graphics, Partner – met key figures central to YOCO’s daily operations; YOCO’s quality control processes; and ongoing model designs in the Research & Development division. We’ve been told they learned a thing, or two about soup dumplings [a Shanghai staple]; the origins of Chinese tea; the cultural nuances between life “in the North” and the South [Dongguan], where Best Graphics’ line of SCM Folder Gluers are manufactured; and the People’s Republic of China’s strategic outlook on manufacturing under the a new U.S. administration. Needless to say, our future – YOCO and Best Graphics – is bright!

Already having (4) pieces of equipment, on our – Best Graphics’ – factory floor prior to the visit, A.J. Brahm ink’d a deal for (3) more machines for stock inventory. Specifically, a JY-76T, 24 x 30” Die Cutter with Stripping & Foil Stamping; a JY-106T, 30 x 42” Die Cutter with Stripping & Foil Stamping; and a PT-125, 32” x 47” Pile Turner with Aerator & Dual Blowers.
